Jacques Foccart is a native of Earth from what was once the francophone African nation of Côte d’Ivoire. He grew up on Africa’s Ivory Coast with his two sisters, Danielle and Francine. He became a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes after drinking the same serum that gave Lyle Norg, the original Invisible Kid, his powers. He was the second person to use the name Invisible Kid.

He first appeared in Legion of Super-Heroes Annual Vol 2 #1 (August 1982), where he helped the Legion stop a murderous Computo that had possessed his younger sister Danielle, who had an incurable thought disease that caused electrical dysfunction in her brain. He was rewarded with Legion membership as the second Invisible Kid for his bravery.

Not long after using Norg’s serum, he went to another dimension where he met a person who appeared to be Lyle Norg. This “Lyle” returned to Earth with Jacques, but he was revealed to be the Dream Demon — master of that dimension. After defeating the creature, Jacques and Wildfire lit an eternal flame on Shanghalla as a tribute to Lyle.

Jacques found that not only could he turn invisible, but he could also teleport. He discovered this when he teleported a Wharlik Khund and himself into space. This power also caused his journey to the Dream Demon’s dimension, but he did not know it then. Though teleportation was a powerful addition to his worth as a Legionnaire, Jacques could not in good conscience keep a power he could not control. He asked Brainaic 5 to analyze his strengths and ultimately asked the Legion’s Dr. Gym’ll to remove them permanently.

As time passed, Jacques became a competent and dedicated member of the Legion, always showing a very reflective approach to the situation. He was also part of the Legion Espionage Squad, using his invisibility to infiltrate enemy bases and gather information.

After the subversion of Earthgov by the Dominators, Jacques helped lead the underground resistance. This eventually led to his being appointed President of Earth. He served as President for several years, dealing with various crises and threats, such as Mordru, Glorith, and Zero Hour.

Jacques married Drura Sehpt, aka Infectious Lass, who was also a member of the resistance and later a Legionnaire. They had two children, Danielle (named after his sister) and Lyle (named after his predecessor). Danielle inherited her father’s invisibility powers and joined the Batch SW6 group of clones as Computo. Lyle inherited his mother’s infection powers and joined the Legion as Virus.

Jacques Foccart is one of the most influential and respected characters in dc comics’ history. He is not only a hero but also a leader, a husband, and a father. He has faced many challenges and overcame many obstacles with courage and intelligence. He is a proud representative of his African heritage and culture.
